In today's lesson, we looked over the sequence. Some of the clips, we slowed down, as we thought it looked better. With the clips being slowed down, we filled our timeframe! Now that all the clips are sorted, the music can be made, and the existing titles can be edited, and more can be put in.

In today's lesson we managed to decide on the font for our main title, which is featured in a couple of posts before this one. I chose to use the edit drifting as I felt it worked best, and was more effective. Also during this lesson, I edited in the production company logo into our sequence. I used a fade in and fade out, as I thought this looked good.

Chosen font for title!
Chosen Font for 'Walking with the Dead' is called Acki Preschool. And this is what it looks like:
We chose this font because after much discussion we all felt that the font needed to look somewhat similar to that of a child's. This one is perfect because it's not neat, and looks like it may have been scratched in. Also, some letters are bigger than others, and some are lower case and some are upper case. This is good because it gives it an edgy feel, rather than sleek.

In the past few lessons, myself and Hayley have been continuing to edit the sequence.
In the last lesson, I started to put on the actual titles (actors names etc.). I found a font on DaFont called KidTypeRuled, which we thought was suitable. I also edited in the clip of the fridge, as the first time of filming, we didn't get the footage we actually needed for that part. I also started to look for a font to use for the title 'Walking with the dead.' I also looked at the different effects that could be used for when it appears on the screen, and my favorites were 'drifting' 'typewriter' and 'video terminal.'
In today's lesson I will be doing more research into the font for the main title, with the other group members helping me to find one that is suitable. I am hoping that we'll find one within the first hour, so that I can continue the editing in the second hour of today's lesson.

Below are the images of the setting we chose:
In this photo it shows the main setting, which is the boys room, it shows us what a 'normal' boys room should look like.

Yesterday, our group got together to start filming for our title sequence.
All of the required filming got done, and probably took a bit longer than we expected. The beginning of our title sequence may need to be re-filmed because it was meant to be in day light. Also, some other shots may need to re-filmed as the lighting may not have been as bright as we had hoped. Once we have uploaded the filming, we will be able to see how bright it is, and judge whether or not in needs to be shot again.

In our lesson, Megan started to look on Garage band at possible sounds for our Title Sequence. The sort of sounds to be featured in our Title Sequence are quite eerie sounds, to make it seem quite dark and sinister. Sounds that link to children will also be featured, such as keyboard music/nursery rhymes. We have also thought about featuring a child breathing.
Also in the lesson, another idea for something that could be featured in our title sequence came about. We were discussing the ending to our Title Sequence, when we stumbled upon the idea of the main character writing a message on a mirror. We would have him actually write on an acetate sheet, so that we can also get a shot, as if the camera is in the mirror. We would put the acetate over the camera lens, and he will write onto it, so that we can see him actually writing it. For the message that is going to be written, we thought about a couple of ideas. At first I thought it would be good to say something quite dark, so I suggested 'it's all her fault' but after discussion, we came up with 'it's all your fault.'

Storyline and structure
Storyline: Follows Todorovs theory.
Equilibrium is... Harry's being normal with his 'imaginary friend'
Disruption is... Harry's behavior changes.
Notice is... his sister notices the change.
Resolution... his sister takes him to a mental institution, starts hurting people and is sent home and is told he is fine.
New Equilibrium is... ends with him at home with his sister walking in the door and then walks out as a man.

Recently we have been thinking about ideas for the typography of our Main title and the other titles ( such as cast and production team). For research into ideas of what fonts we could use, we looked on DaFont.com. In general for our Main title, we have been looking at writing that is distorted and grimy. For the other titles we have been looking at typewriter fonts, and have been thinking about how it can appear on the screen. We think since the font is in the style of a typewriter, it would appear on the screen as though someone is typing it, with an insertion point following it as it goes, as it would when someone actually types.
